Jagran Film Festival (JFF) is one of the world's largest travelling film festivals, proudly rooted in India and dedicated to celebrating the art of cinema. Established in 2010 as an initiative of the Jagran Prakashan Group, the festival was created with the vision of making meaningful cinema accessible to audiences beyond India's major metropolitan cities while nurturing a deeper appreciation for the cinematic arts.
Over the years, JFF has evolved into a dynamic platform that connects filmmakers, industry professionals, and cinema enthusiasts from across the globe. The festival offers audiences a unique opportunity to experience a diverse selection of films while engaging in interactive sessions with acclaimed national and international actors, directors, producers, writers, and technicians. Through insightful conversations, masterclasses, and Q&A sessions, JFF encourages meaningful dialogue and celebrates the craft of storytelling.
Every year, the festival receives more than 7,000 film submissions from over 100 countries, reflecting its growing international recognition. Each eligible entry undergoes a rigorous evaluation process conducted by one of India's most distinguished preview panels, including several members associated with the National Film Awards. Following an extensive selection process, approximately 500 outstanding films are chosen for screening during the festival's 100-day journey across the country.
Inaugurated in New Delhi by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, Jagran Film Festival travels across 10 states, reaching audiences in 14 cities and connecting with a potential population of over 500 million people. By bringing world-class cinema to diverse regions, the festival continues to bridge cultures, inspire conversations, and promote the spirit of cinematic excellence.
The festival concludes with its prestigious awards ceremony in Mumbai, where an eminent jury honours exceptional filmmakers, artists, and creative professionals across multiple categories. Through awards and cash prizes, Jagran Film Festival recognizes outstanding contributions to cinema and celebrates the vision, talent, and dedication of storytellers from around the world.
