Jagran Film Festival (JFF) is one of the world's largest travelling film festivals rooted in India. Since its inception in 2010, the festival has been a flagship initiative of the Jagran Prakashan Group, dedicated to promoting the appreciation of cinematic art beyond India's major metropolitan cities and bringing world-class cinema to audiences across the country.
JFF has emerged as a vibrant platform that celebrates the art of storytelling through cinema. It brings together filmmakers, actors, technicians, industry professionals, and cinema enthusiasts, creating meaningful opportunities for audiences to engage with national and international talent through interactive conversations, panel discussions, masterclasses, and question-and-answer sessions.
Every year, the festival receives more than 7,000 film submissions from over 100 countries, making it one of the most diverse film festivals in the world. Each eligible entry is carefully reviewed by an esteemed preview panel comprising some of India's most respected film experts, including several members associated with the National Film Awards selection process. Following a rigorous evaluation, approximately 500 outstanding films are selected and showcased during the festival's extensive 100-day journey.
The Jagran Film Festival is inaugurated in New Delhi in the presence of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, before embarking on its multi-city journey across 10 states, reaching an audience base of over 500 million people. This unique travelling format enables the festival to take quality cinema to diverse regions, encouraging cultural exchange and making exceptional films accessible to audiences beyond traditional film hubs.
The festival also honours excellence in cinema through a prestigious awards programme judged by an eminent panel of industry experts. Outstanding filmmakers, actors, and creative professionals are recognised across multiple categories for their exceptional contributions to the world of cinema. The festival culminates with a grand awards ceremony in Mumbai's Tinsel Town, where winners are presented with prestigious honours and cash prizes in recognition of their artistic achievements.
