Jagran Film Festival (JFF) is one of the world's largest travelling film festivals, proudly rooted in India. Since its inception in 2010, the festival has been a flagship initiative of the Jagran Prakashan Group, committed to celebrating the art of cinema and making world-class films accessible to audiences beyond India's metropolitan cities.
Over the years, JFF has evolved into a dynamic platform that unites filmmakers, actors, technicians, industry professionals, and cinema enthusiasts from across the globe. More than just a film festival, it is a space where stories spark conversations, ideas inspire creativity, and audiences engage directly with renowned national and international talent through masterclasses, panel discussions, interactive sessions, and exclusive Q&As.
Each year, the festival receives over 7,000 film submissions from more than 100 countries, reflecting its growing global recognition and diversity. Every eligible entry undergoes a rigorous evaluation by an esteemed preview panel comprising some of India's most respected film experts, including members associated with the National Film Awards selection process. Following this extensive review, nearly 500 exceptional films are selected for screening during the festival's remarkable 100-day travelling journey.
The festival is inaugurated in New Delhi in the presence of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, before travelling across 10 states, bringing outstanding cinema to audiences nationwide. With a reach of over 500 million people, JFF's unique travelling format promotes cultural exchange, nurtures emerging talent, and ensures that exceptional cinematic experiences reach communities beyond conventional film destinations.
Recognising excellence in filmmaking remains at the heart of the festival. Through its prestigious awards programme, an eminent jury honours outstanding achievements across multiple categories, celebrating the creative brilliance of filmmakers, actors, and industry professionals. The festival culminates in a grand awards ceremony in Mumbai's Tinsel Town, where winners are presented with prestigious honours and cash prizes, marking the grand finale of India's extraordinary celebration of cinema.
