Q. What are the dates for the Jio MAMI Movie Mela with Star?

A. The Jio MAMI Movie Mela with Star 2019 will be held on the 13th of October from 10:00 am onwards at Bal Gandharva Rang Mandir, Bandra, Mumbai. (Bal Gandharva Rang Mandir, Bandra).


Hot Tips: Book your sessions in advance (you can book up to 2 sessions at the Mela, so choose wisely) and to avoid queues and the mad rush, get to the venue early.

A. You can pre-book up to 2 sessions at the Jio MAMI Movie Mela with Star. If you want to attend more than two sessions, then you will have to stand in line for the other sessions and take your chances. Entry is subject to availability.

A. All registered delegates (except Students registered for only free venues) of the Jio MAMI 21st Mumbai Film Festival with Star i.e. General Delegates, Paid Student Delegates and Accredited Press are eligible to attend the Jio MAMI Movie Mela with Star. 


Q. How do I register for the Jio MAMI 21st Mumbai Film Festival with Star?

A. You can register on www.bookmy.show/mami.com w.e.f 3rd September, 2019. In addition to online registration, on-ground registration at all festival screening venues will open from 10th October, 2019 and will be active for the duration of the festival. 


Q. What are the dates of the Jio MAMI 21st Mumbai Film Festival with Star?

A. The dates for the Jio MAMI 21st Mumbai Film Festival with Star are from 17th October to 24th October, 2019. (The film screenings only begin across venues from the 18th of October.)


Q. How do I collect my festival badge?

A. You can collect your festival badge from your selected badge pickup venue. If you are unable to pick up the badge at your pre-selected venue, you can collect the badge from any of the festival screening venues. Please note that you can collect your badge only after showing a valid photo identity card (Passport, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, Voter Identity Card or Driver`s License). The badges will be available for pick up across the festival screening venues from 10 am to 10 pm from 10th October, 2019 onwards, until the end of the festival.


Q. Can someone else collect my festival badge on my behalf?

A. Each delegate needs to personally collect their festival badge. Only after showing a valid identity card (Passport, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, Voter Identity card or Driver`s License) will the badge be given to you.


Q. What do I need to carry when I go to pick up my festival badge?

A. Please present the following at the registration desk to collect your festival badge.


  1. The electronically generated confirmation email/SMS.

  2. Valid photo identity card (Passport, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, Voter Identity Card or Driver’s License).

  3. Please note that the festival badge will not be issued in your absence and in the absence of a valid photo identity card (Passport, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, Voter Identity Card or Driver`s License).

  4. In the case of a Press Pass, the email stating approval of Press Accreditation from the MAMI Team must be presented.  


Q. What can I do if I lose my festival badge?

A. Delegates who have lost their festival badge will have to re-register for a new festival badge for security reasons. Lost festival badges will not be replaced.


Q. Are the festival badges transferable? Can I use any other person’s festival badge?

A. The festival badges are non-transferable. Any misuse or sharing of festival badges is strictly prohibited and the management holds the right of admission for such delegates.


Q. Can I book seats for sessions that happen at the festival screening venues?

A. Yes. You can book seats for the sessions (masterclasses, in conversation sessions, panel discussions) which happen at all the festival screening venues along with the film screenings. These sessions will be marked out in the festival schedule and can be booked the same way a seat is booked for a film screening. 


Q. How do I attend a film screening/session?

A. There are two ways to attend a film screening/session:


  1. Book a seat: You need to book a seat for the film screening/session that you want to attend using your unique festival badge number.

Please note that all seat bookings are subject to availability.You can book a maximum of four seats in a day for four different shows/sessions. In addition to booking a seat, you must be seated in the screening theatre at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the screening.


2. Rush/Walk-in line: You can arrive at the screening theatre and wait in the Rush/Walk-in line. You will be given entry to the theatre subject to availability.


Q. What is a rush/walk-in line?

A rush/walk-in line is meant for the delegates who have not pre-booked their seats for the screenings/sessions. Depending upon availability, the delegates in this line are given access to the screening/session.


Q. Do I need to book seats for each film screening/session separately?

A. Yes. You need to book seats for each film screening/session separately. Please note that all seat bookings are subject to availability. In addition to booking a seat, you must be seated in the theatre at least 20 minutes prior to the start of the screening.


Q. How many film screenings/sessions can I book in a day?

A. You can pre-book a maximum of four film screenings/sessions in a day. Please note that all seat bookings are subject to availability. 


Q. When can I start booking my seats for a film screening?

  1. Booking for each film screening will open a day prior to the screening day at 8 am. 

  2. For screenings on the 18th of October 2019, bookings will open on 17th of October 2019 and so on. 

  3. You can book online through www.bookmyshow.com or on-ground at the booking counters across all festival screening venues. 

  4. Some seats are reserved for first come, first serve walk-in delegates at the venue so you can try and avail that facility which is subject to availability.

  5. Please note that all seat bookings are subject to availability. In addition to booking a seat, you must be seated in the theatre at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the screening.


Q. Can I change or cancel a booking?

A. You cannot change one booking into another. However, you can cancel a booking for a particular screening/session and then book another seat for a different screening/session that you might like to watch. All bookings need to be cancelled at least 1 hour prior to the start time of the screening/session. Please note that the new booking you make post cancelling an existing one will also be subject to the availability of seats.


Q. In case I am unable to book my seat for a screening/session due to unavailability, what can I do?

A. The festival usually takes this into consideration and tries to schedule multiple screenings of a film. (The same does not apply to sessions.) In case you are unable to book a particular film screening, you can do one of the following:

  • Refer to your screening schedule to see an alternative screening date, day and time and book it in advance.

  • Check online for sudden availability due to cancellations.

  • Arrive at the screening auditorium much before the screening time to check if the rush line/walk-in seats are available at the venue or if there have been any cancellations.

Q. What are the dates for Half Ticket movie screenings?

A. Half Ticket movie screenings will take place on the 20th October 2019, at Matterden Carnival Cinemas (Deepak Talkies).

Q. Where are the Half Ticket screenings happening?

A. The Half Ticket screening venue is Matterden Carnival Cinemas (Deepak Talkies).

Q. How do I get access to Half Ticket screenings?

A. To get access to Half Ticket screenings, you will have to register yourself for the festival online at www.bookmy.show/mami.com anytime from 3rd September to 20th October 2019. On-ground registration will open on 10th October 2019 and will go on through the duration of the festival. (Festival dates this year are 17th October to 24th October 2019).

Q. How can children and young adults register for Half Ticket?

A. Children and young adults cannot register for Half Ticket without an adult (parent/ authorized guardian). It is mandatory for the adult (parent/ authorized guardian) registering the Children and Young Adults for Half Ticket to be a festival delegate with a valid MAMI festival badge. 

 It is mandatory for the delegate (parent/guardian) accompanying the child to carry valid photo ID of the child and the delegate themselves. In case the delegate is a guardian, a letter of authority from the parent of the child, along with photo ID of the child, the parent of the child and the delegate needs to be carried at all times. Photo IDs will be checked at the time of entry into the venue. Entry can be denied at the discretion of the management if ID proof is inadequate.


Q. What is the age group Half Ticket caters to?

A. Children and young adults from ages 5 to 17 years are eligible to watch Half Ticket screenings. Each film has an additional specific age advisory. Please refer to the festival schedule to see the age advisories mentioned before booking seats for screenings. All adult festival delegates are also eligible to watch Half Ticket screenings.


Q. Can children and young adults attend Half Ticket screenings on their own post registration?

A. Children and young adults cannot attend Half Ticket screenings/sessions unaccompanied by the adult (parent/guardian) that has registered them. It is mandatory for the delegate (parent/guardian) accompanying the child to carry valid photo ID of the child and the delegate themselves. In case of the delegate is a guardian, a letter of authority from the parent of the child, along with photo id of the child, the photo ID of the parent of the child and the photo ID of the delegate needs to be carried at all times. Photo IDs will be checked at the time of entry into the venue. Entry can be denied at the discretion of the management if ID proof is inadequate.


Q. How many children can I register/bring along with me for Half Ticket movie screenings?

A. One adult can register up to 2 children/young adults for Half Ticket.

Q. Do I need to pre-book seats for myself and the children for the screening of Half Ticket movies?

A. Yes. It is advised that you pre-book your seats as well as the seats for your children for the screenings.

Q. Are the movies, age-sensitive for children?

A. Yes. All our movies come with age advisories that are mentioned in the daily schedule. Therefore, it is necessary that the parent/guardian reads the daily schedule prior to the booking of seats.

Q. If I am an adult and a festival delegate, can I watch Half Ticket movies?

A. Yes. All festival delegates can watch Half Ticket screenings. Please note that all seat bookings are subject to availability. In addition to booking a seat, you must be seated in the theatre, at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the screening.

Q. How many days will the Half Ticket movie screenings take place during the course of the festival?

A.  They will take place on the 20th October 2019, at Matterden Carnival Cinemas (Deepak Talkies).

  • Registration inquiries and applications will only be processed during the official registration period from 3rd Sep 2019 – 24th Oct 2019.

  • For Press Delegates, the submission of an accreditation form does not guarantee accreditation. The festival reserves the right to accept or reject an application.

  • By registering for the festival, the delegate has agreed to comply with the festival`s participation guidelines, code of conduct and security regulations. Kindly refer to the FAQs.

  • Any breach of participation guidelines, code of conduct and security regulations, will result in immediate cancellation of the festival registration. Kindly refer to the FAQs.

  • A delegate MUST be 18 years of age or above. Please carry valid age proof (Passport, Pan Card, Aadhar Card, Voter ID or Drivers Licence) at all times for your verification.

  • Festival badge will not be handed over in the absence of a valid photo identity proof (Passport, Pan Card, Aadhar Card, Voter ID or Drivers License).

  • Each registered delegate will receive a personalized festival badge with a unique barcode. One delegate cannot use another delegate`s festival badge on any occasion. Such usage will be considered as a breach of participation guidelines and will result in the cancellation of the registration. Any festival badge that is used by any person other than the registration holder of such badge will be confiscated.

  • It is mandatory for the delegate to wear the festival badge at all times within festival venues. Delegates not carrying the festival badge will be refused entry to the festival venues by security personnel.

  • In the event that a delegate loses their festival badge, the lost festival badge will not be replaced. The delegate will have to re-register for a new delegate badge for security reasons. 

  • The Festival Badge allows access to ALL public events and public films screenings (Except for the Free Student Registration Badge that allows access to events/screenings only at venues made free for students. The date, time and venues of these events will be available in a printed schedule in the festival bag. The schedule will also be announced through the festival website and the festival`s official social media platforms i.e Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. There can be changes to this schedule. These changes will reflect on the website every day and also will be flashed across our social media platforms so please do watch out for such changes. Best efforts will be made to communicate any such changes to the delegates.

  • Opening Ceremony, Closing Ceremony, and receptions at the festival are by invite only events. The festival badge does not give you access to these events. 

  • The booking for film tickets will open on the 17th of October 2019. Every day, starting the 17th of October 2019, the bookings will open at 8 am for the films screened over the next day. A delegate can choose to book all the tickets (up to 4 screenings/events) for next one day, via online booking or at the festival venue booking counters. For e.g. For screenings/events on the 19th of October, a registered delegate can book seats (up to four screenings/events) on the 18th of October (8 am onwards). The delegate can choose to book all four screenings/events online or they can do this at the booking counters at the festival screening venues.

  • Delegates who have booked tickets online must arrive at the screening Audi, at least 15 minutes prior to the screening they have booked seats for. Any delegate arriving later than that will have to wait in the Stand-by line, irrespective of their seat booking status. 

  • The Festival movie schedule is subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances. All schedule changes will be announced through the festival website, the festival`s official social media platforms i.e Instagram, Twitter and Facebook and at the festival venues.

  • Piracy is a legal offense. Any kind of audio or video recording during the film screenings/events will be met with severe actions from the festival. If found guilty of any such activity, the responsible delegate`s recording device and festival badge will be confiscated. The delegate would not be allowed to attend any screening or event for the rest of the festival and would be black-listed for the future editions of the festival. Necessary government agencies will be roped in depending on the seriousness of the situation. The festival screening theaters are under strict security surveillance at all times. 

  • The Festival bag and Catalogue fee, will not be exchanged or refunded under any circumstance. 

  • For security reasons, the organizers reserve the right to perform a security check on any member of the audience at any point during the festival.

  • Screenings/events could be cancelled/ rescheduled if discipline and guidelines are not met with by attending delegate(s).

  • Organizers or any of its agents, officers and employees shall not be responsible for any injury, damage, theft, losses or cost suffered at or as a result of the event or any part of it.

  • Food and beverages will be available inside festival screening venues for sale. Any outside Food and Beverages are not allowed inside the festival venues.

  • The Delegate agrees to receive communication regarding the Festival from both Bookmyshow.com and Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival with Star 2019 in the form of e-mail or/and SMS from the time of registration to last day of the Festival (17th October- 24th October 2019).

  • For Half Ticket Public Screenings: The age group to register for the Half Ticket section is 05-17 years. The festival reserves right to deny entry if all the paperwork specified to gain entry to the Half ticket venue is not adhered to (Please refer to the section on Half Ticket in the FAQs section). The Half Ticket section has a dedicated screening venue: Matterden Carnival Cinema (Deepak Talkies). A maximum of two children can be registered by a registered delegate of Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival with Star 2019. The Half Ticket registration for children and young adults (ages 5-17 years) is FREE. 

  • All registered delegates (except Students registered for only free venues, i.e. Students with the Free Student registration badge) of the Jio MAMI 21st Mumbai Film Festival with Star 2019 i.e. General Delegates, Paid Student Delegates and Accredited Press are eligible to attend the Jio MAMI Movie Mela with Star 2019. You can pre-book up to two sessions at the Jio MAMI Movie Mela with Star 2019. The pre-booking of sessions at the Jio MAMI Movie Mela with Star 2019 starts on the 5th of October 10 am onwards. If you want to attend more than two sessions, then you will have to stand in line for these sessions at the Jio MAMI Movie Mela with Star 2019 and take your chances. Entry is subject to availability.

COVID SAFETY GUIDELINES

  • Owing to the recent conditions surrounding the COVID – 19 pandemic, as a pre-condition to gaining access to the venue (events and theatres) you are required to be fully vaccinated and may be required to display your COVID – 19 certificate at the venue as per the various norms /regulations prevailing in the said State. The venue provider and governing authorities reserve the right to exclude any user from the venue if there are sufficient grounds to believe so for failure to abide by the protocols. You agree to exit without protest or refund. Users are required to check the restrictions as applicable in their State
  • Use of masks is mandatory at all times and the visitors are required to maintain social distancing norms. The venue and Bigtree reserve the right to change/modify the terms and conditions.
