Join us for an enriching and contemplative experience centred around Kintsugi, the
ancient Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold. More than a restoration technique, Kintsugi is a philosophy that embraces imperfections, celebrating every crack and fracture as a part of an object's unique history. In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn the fundamentals of this centuries- old practice while creating a restored ceramic piece, discovering how brokenness can be transformed into beauty, resilience and renewed purpose.
Just as Kintsugi restores fragments into a harmonious whole, the experience continues with the timeless traditions of Indian performing arts that celebrate unity through rhythm, melody and movement.
The afternoon unfolds with a soulful jugalbandi featuring the evocative melodies of the Sitar and the rhythmic brilliance of the Tabla, followed by Kathak dance performance,
where every gesture and movement narrates stories of grace, devotion and artistic expression.
Set within the serene ambience of Kathika's museum galleries and heritage courtyards, this
thoughtfully curated experience brings together two artistic traditions from different cultures,
each honouring the passage of time, craftsmanship and the enduring beauty found
in transformation. Discover the beauty of imperfection in the timeless surroundings of Kathika, a beautifully restored century old haveli transformed into a Cultural Centre and Museum in the heart of Old Delhi.
