Kinusaiga is a traditional Japanese craft where artists create detailed, mosaic-like picture designs by tucking fabric into grooves carved into a board. Often called patchwork without sewing or silk painting
The art form was invented in Japan in 1980 by Maeno Takashi, originally using discarded kimono silk on carved wooden bases.
