A brief about LGMF
LGMF aims to promote, preserve and nurture Indian music thru global collaborations and specific initiatives that inspire future generations to gain knowledge, embrace and take pride in Indian classical music
Founded by violin legend Dr L. Subramaniam & Vijayashree Subramaniam in 1992 in memory of Prof. V. Lakshminarayana.
It was inaugurated by TT Vasu & the invocation song by Bharat Ratna MS Subbulakshmi.
The Festival has been held in 55 cities across 23 countries, drawing massive crowds of over 10 million.
Demographics of the Festival attract all ethnicities because of the diverse musical cultures presented.
The Festival has been successfully running for 32 years and is recognized as India`s largest global music festival.
Global music legends across genres have performed in LGMF over the years, enriching the musical journey and delighting music lovers.
LGMF has hosted some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Lord Yehudi Menuhin, Bismillah Khan, Gangubai Hangal, Pandit Jasraj, Al-Jarreau, Steven Seagal, Jean Luc Ponty, Billy Cobham, Hubert Laws, George Duke, Stanley Clarke, Roby Lakatos, Vadim Repin and major Symphony Orchestras. LGMF is the only music festival that has been able to showcase talent from around the world in different genres of music. It has presented Indian Classical (Carnatic and Hindustani), Jazz, Rock, Western Classical, Orchestral, Ghazals and Folk styles from five continents.
