New Beginnings: Symphony No. 1 by Lydian Nadhaswaram is a special musical evening presenting the audio premiere of Lydian’s original symphony, recorded in London with the legendary London Symphony Orchestra and conducted by acclaimed conductor Matt Dunkley.
The symphony is structured in four movements: Awakening, Reflections, Quest, and Ascension. Through this work, Lydian explores the classical symphonic form with his own musical language, bringing together orchestral writing, Indian musical identity, and a contemporary global sound.
This project marks a historic milestone, with Lydian recognised as the youngest Indian and Asian to compose and record an original symphony. The evening will introduce the audience to the making, structure, and musical vision behind the work, followed by the presentation of the complete recorded symphony.
A special celebration of original orchestral music from India, performed by one of the world’s greatest orchestras.
