About The Event
Maestro vs Mastermind: Ilayaraja vs Yuvan, Live
The Maestro who shaped our memories vs the Mastermind who shaped our playlists.
Some songs belong to a decade. Some belong to you, because they were playing when you fell in love, hit the road or needed to get through a hard day. Ilayaraja and Yuvan Shankar Raja composed many of those songs, in very different ways.
Tonight, we put the two legends head to head. Expect soulful melodies that feel like coming home, fast numbers that pushed Tamil film music into new territory, and folk tunes rooted in the soil, drawn from different periods of both careers.
It is a musical face-off, a singalong and a trip down memory lane. Whether you grew up on cassettes or streaming playlists, come with your favourites and pick your side. Only the crowd decides who wins.
