Maestro of emotive music, Pt. Hridaynath Mangeshkar an experimental composer and vocalist. He has composed music for numerous timeless Marathi and Hindi songs. He played a significant role in elevating Marathi Bhavgeet (lyrical, emotive songs) to a new level of excellence through his music.
He is also the first Indian composer to compose and release two entire albums featuring the poems and songs of the poet-saint Meera, titled Chala Vahi Des and Meera Bhajans. He has also composed and release an album titled Meera Soor Kabeera, featuring the works of Meera, Kabir and Surdas. He produced an album Ghalibh, featuring the ghazals of Ghalib. He brought the compositions of Dnyaneshwar and the Saints, as well as the poetry of Suresh Bhat, Grace, Kusumagraj, B. S. Mardhekar, and Veer Vamanbhau to the masses.
