About The Event

Swiss accordion virtuoso Marc Tschanz and Indian jazz guitarist Sanjay Divecha come together for a one-night-only collaboration, bringing Swiss folk and jazz into conversation.

The accordion meets the jazz guitar in a first-ever musical collaboration between Swiss virtuoso Marc Tschanz and Indian guitarist and composer Sanjay Divecha. In this powerful performance, Tschanz’s roots in Swiss folk music meet Divecha’s expansive jazz vocabulary, creating an opportunity to explore the possibilities of an unusual instrumental pairing.

Tschanz began learning the schwyzoise, a traditional Swiss accordion, at the age of eight. His career has taken him from folk ensembles to Örgeli House, his debut album released in 2024, which he toured across Switzerland. A founding member of M-Project and Black Noise Sheep, he also teaches through music schools, private lessons and online courses. In 2025, he performed at the opening show of the Eurovision Song Contest.

Divecha began his musical journey in Mumbai before spending 15 years in Los Angeles, where he graduated from the Musicians Institute. Since returning to India in 2003, he has continued to perform, compose and mentor musicians. He leads three ensembles – Sanjay Divecha & Secret, MERKABA and his trio – and is a member of CROSSCURRENTS, the ensemble led by Zakir Hussain. His collaborations include work with Angélique Kidjo, Carlos Santana and A. R. Rahman.

Coming together for the first time, the two musicians draw on their distinct musical backgrounds to discover new possibilities through the interplay of accordion and guitar.
