Please note: This masterclass will be conducted in a hybrid format, with participants having the option to attend either online or in person at the Dilip Piramal Art Gallery, NCPA.

Gopika Varma is a Mohiniattam artiste and disciple of Girija and Chandrika Kurup, both senior students of Kalyanikutty Amma. She later specialised in the form under the guidance of Kalyanikutty Amma and her daughter Sreedevi Rajan. Varma also learnt abhinaya, which is the quintessence of Mohiniattam, from Krishnan Nair, the doyen of the Kathakali stage. Varma has performed extensively at various art festivals in India and abroad. She has been bestowed with numerous awards and recognitions including the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, Kerala Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, Nrithya Choodamani and Kalaimamani Award, among others. Varma runs Dasyam, a Mohiniattam dance school at Adyar, Chennai.
Kalaimamani Guru Gopika Varma will be teaching an Srinagar Padam by Maharaja Swati Thirunal.
