About The Event
The dance drama Mayar Khela, written by the legendary bard Rabindranath Tagore, imagines the Mayas as maidens of enchantment who weave a shroud of illusion around lovers—sometimes happy, sometimes heart-wrenching. Many a time, the lovers lose their way in this game of Maya and part ways. But love is ethereal; love is pure. And even if two hearts don't remain together, even if they move away from each other and find other beloved ones, the essence of their earlier love remains within them like a golden shackle of lasting emotion.

Bahamana, or that which is continuous, is our response to the fading quality of our indigenous dance forms. Under Bahamana, the evening will be a woven garland of two halves.
A presentation in the first half by the duo Namrata Mehta, an Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar awardee, and the outstanding Bharatanatyam dancer Prachi Saathi.
