About The Event

Mindful Connections, A Mental Health Day Special

Celebrate Mental Health Day with Mindful Connections, an interactive and experiential workshop designed to help you understand yourself better, manage emotions mindfully and build healthier connections with the people around you.

This is not a conventional psychology lecture. The session combines psychology, mindfulness, creative expression, movement, music and engaging activities to make mental health learning practical, relatable and enjoyable.

What to expect

You will explore self awareness, emotional patterns, emotional triggers, communication, emotional intelligence, healthy boundaries, empathy and perspective taking through fun activities and real life situations.

Activities include psychology based games, music and mood exercises, relationship scenarios, paired listening activities, movement based interactions and a guided creative activity where you can visually express what you value and need in your relationships. No artistic experience is required.

You will also learn simple mindfulness, grounding and breathing techniques that can help you pause, notice what you are feeling and choose how you want to respond instead of reacting instantly.

Why you should attend

Whether you often overthink conversations, find it difficult to say no, struggle with communication, want to understand your emotions better or simply want to build healthier relationships, this workshop offers practical tools that can be applied to everyday life.

The experience is suitable for students, young adults, young professionals and anyone interested in mental health awareness, emotional wellbeing, mindfulness, self growth and meaningful connections.

The workshop is facilitated by Shabnam Parveen, Counselling Psychologist, Relationship Coach, Mentor and Wellness Coach, with over 12 years of combined professional experience across HR, counselling, mental health and workplace wellbeing.

Participants will take away practical approaches to emotional awareness, communication, understanding different perspectives, setting healthy boundaries and managing emotionally challenging moments.
