The story follows Jim Hardy, played by Crosby, who dreams of leaving show business behind to run a countryside inn that opens only on holidays. His plans become complicated when his talented performer friend Ted Hanover, portrayed by Astaire, enters the picture, leading to romance, rivalry and spectacular musical numbers. The film beautifully combines comedy, dance and emotion through the remarkable chemistry between Crosby and Astaire.
