About The Event
Namo Bharatam… Vande Mataram
A stirring celebration of courage, freedom and the spirit of India, Namo Bharatam… Vande Mataram is a special theatrical presentation performed by hearing-impaired students of Natyashala.
The production takes audiences on a journey through some of the defining chapters of India’s freedom struggle - beginning with the uprising of 1857, moving through the courage of Rani Lakshmibai, and recalling the contributions of leaders and revolutionaries including Lokmanya Tilak, Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. It also reflects on the inspiration of Vande Mataram, India’s Independence, the country’s progress thereafter, and our responsibility towards the nation.
Blending theatre, expressive movement, dance, music, narration and striking ensemble formations, the production transforms history into a vibrant live-stage experience. What makes it particularly special is its young ensemble, who communicate the story with remarkable synchronisation, energy and expression, proving that theatre speaks far beyond words.
Conceptualised by Kanchan Sonatakke and directed by Bharat More, the production features a large ensemble of young performers from Rotary Sanskardham Academy and celebrates not only India’s history, but also the power of inclusion, determination and artistic expression.
A tribute to the nation. A celebration of ability. A performance that speaks straight to the heart.
Namo Bharatam… Vande Mataram.
