About The Event

RADHA ASHTAMI

Radha Rani Ka Janam Mahotsav

An afternoon of Prem, Bhakti and the joy of Krishna

There are some joys that feel too sacred to keep to oneself.

An afternoon for all women where we gather as Sakhis to sing, listen, dance and celebrate the one who showed us perhaps the most beautiful way to love Krishna, Sri Radha Rani.

Radha is not merely Krishna's beloved.

She is the very Shakti of his Prem.

If Krishna is the flute, perhaps Radha is the longing that gives it a song.

If Krishna is the Divine, Radha is the heart that knows how to love the Divine.

And if Krishna is Ananda, Radha is the Prem through which that Ananda becomes ours.

It is said that when Radha Rani appeared, Vrindavan itself blossomed.

So on her Janam Mahotsav, we too shall create a little Vrindavan amongst us.

Not simply to speak about Radha,

but to enter her bhaav.

To sing as the Gopis sang.

To dance because Prem cannot always remain still.

To listen to her Katha.

To offer flowers, fragrance and our own hearts.

And perhaps, for a few precious hours,

to forget everything except Krishna.

WHAT AWAITS YOU

Radha-Krishna Kirtan

We sing together, not as performers and an audience, but as one Sangat remembering the Divine through Naam and music.

Radha Katha

Stories and spiritual reflections on Radha Rani's divine appearance, her Leela, and the deeper spiritual meaning of Radha Bhaav.

Jhoola of Divine Love

A Vrindavan-inspired floral Jhoola celebrating the eternal Prem of Radha and Krishna - and the sweetness of allowing our own hearts to become their swing.

Whirling in Prem

A meditative movement into surrender, where the body moves, the mind softens and remembrance becomes prayer.

Phoolon Ki Holi and Gulab Itr

A fragrant shower of flowers and rose ittar, an offering of beauty, celebration and blessing.

Gopi Geet - An Offering by the Sakhis and dandiya

Sakhis who feel called may prepare a dance offering for Krishna. Because sometimes devotion needs no explanation.

It simply needs to dance.

Our celebration will be followed by High Tea, where we sit together as Sakhis, carrying a little of Vrindavan back into our everyday lives with chaat and all things sweet.

ABOUT THE HOST - SAGRIEKA MITTAL

Sagrieka Mittal is a spiritual mentor, poet, sound healer and facilitator whose work brings together Krishna Bhakti, Advaita Vedanta, Sufism, meditation and spiritual psychology.

Her journey has been one of seeking the Divine through both wisdom and lived experience, and her gatherings weave together storytelling, poetry, music, meditation and sacred celebration to make spirituality something that can be felt, lived and loved.

Ishqaa is her pen name, the voice through which she expresses her poetry and her intimate conversations with Divine Love.

For Sagrieka, Bhakti is not something to perform.

It is something to become.

Radha Ashtami comes from that very space, not simply as an event she is hosting, but as a prasad of the joy she herself has received through Krishna, now offered to every heart that feels called to share it.

And perhaps we do not always find Krishna.

Perhaps Krishna finds us first.

If something within you softens when you hear his name,

if Radha's Prem feels strangely familiar,

or if you simply found yourself here, reading these words today...

Perhaps you have already been called.
