Raga Rasa Kavya is an illuminating exploration of how a Raga's emotional core (Raga Bhav) transforms as it moves across different musical forms, poetry, and rhythmic structures. In Hindustani music, a single melodic framework can wear vastly different avatars when adapted from the grand architecture of a Khayal to the romantic intimacy of a Thumri, or the devotional expanse of allied genres.
In this interactive and thematic concert, Ruchira Kedar guides the audience through both performance and live demonstration. She delves into the mechanics and evolution of this process, illustrating how subtle shifts in lyrics, ornamentation, and tempo (Laya) alter the overall aesthetic experience (Rasa) for the listener.
