About The Event
Two Bands. One Musical Journey. The Spirit of Bengal.
An evocative musical evening where two performing groups come together to celebrate the timeless songs of Rabindranath Tagore, inspired by the mysticism, simplicity, and spiritual freedom of Bengal's Bauls and Fakirs.
Drawing from the rich traditions of folk music, the event explores Tagore's deep engagement with the philosophy of the wandering mystics, whose songs speak of love, humanity, inner discovery, and the search for the divine within. Through soulful renditions, contemporary interpretations, and the vibrant energy of live music, the two bands bring alive the universal messages embedded in these timeless compositions.
The evening is a confluence of tradition and innovation, where the earthy spirit of Bengal's Baul and Fakir traditions meets the creative expression of two distinct musical ensembles. Together, they invite audiences to experience Tagore's music not merely as songs, but as a journey of the heart, celebrating freedom, compassion, spiritual awakening, and the oneness of humanity.
A celebration of music that transcends boundaries, connects souls, and keeps the spirit of Bengal alive.
Members of Srijon will make a thematic presentation featuring Rabindra Sangeet accompanied by Rabindrik Nritya.
