About The Event
Reading seems to be having a moment again. Independent bookstores are becoming cultural spaces, reading communities are growing, young people are discovering books through Instagram and BookTok, and literature continues to be a way of engaging with questions around identity, politics, society and power.
The conversation looks at why reading is making a comeback and whether choosing what we read can still challenge the way we see the world.
Rather than a conventional literary discussion, we`d like this to be a dynamic, accessible conversation about reading as a cultural act, why people are returning to books, what they are choosing to read, and what literature can do that other forms of media cannot.
