About The Event
'Chand Tara' is based on the legend of Taramati, the 17th-century singer of the Golconda Kingdom in South India. A truly devoted artiste who lived only for her art. Her music was a form of prayer, touching hearts and leaving a lasting impression on Hyderabad’s history for three centuries. Sultan Abdullah Qutb Shah, a cultured ruler of the Qutub Shahi Dynasty, a patron of the arts and a poet himself, patronised her art with great admiration, respecting her dedication, seeing in her something greater than a mere love interest. Through their eyes, we see an evolved bond that is not just about romance, but about respect, understanding and the power of devotion through art. Their bond grows from reluctance to shared love for art in ways that words cannot fully describe. Eventually, responsibility takes over emotion, head over heart, in an unrequited love story. The story shows how pure art and devotion last longer than power or fame. 'Chand Tara' is about choices that ask for sacrifice, and the ways people leave their mark in others' lives. It is a gentle, moving tale of art with dignity and self-respect, and the lasting impact of those who live for others.
