
Short Film Screenings
Many wonderful short films are being made in India. Filmmakers are at work in their own regions, devising bold, new ways to experiment with form and technique. Short Film Corner hopes to be a showcase for these films and open a dialogue between the filmmakers and their audiences.
Dhan Ki Devi
Hindi with English Subtitles (9 mins)
Set in a small town in India during the festival of Diwali, Dhan Ki Devi follows a day in the life of a child influencer, Ayesha, whose parents have unintentionally traded her innocence in pursuit of social media fame. Using Goddess Lakshmi as a metaphor, the film critiques the commodification of children and the silent loss of childhood in the age of likes and shares.

In the heart of a chaotic city, 25-year-old Ritu secretly works as a mascot at an amusement park to support her family. Hiding behind a costume that brings joy to strangers, she struggles with the weight of loneliness, pressure and shame—until she forms an unexpected bond with Aarav, a quiet, observant child who reflects her own emptiness. As their unlikely friendship deepens, a long-buried truth at home forces Ritu to confront herself, helping her reclaim her voice and self-worth and giving Aarav a renewed faith in connection and trust.

The Pissing Tale

Set inside a school in Kashmir, Aamir, with his younger brother, Yusuf, who can’t control his bladder, tries to reclaim the Superman costume from the bullies found in a donation box.
