About The Event

An intimate evening of mystic poetry, song and stories

Come spend an evening immersed in the songs of the mystics, whose words have been carried across centuries through oral traditions.

Anahita will share her renditions of poetry by mystics such as Rumi, Kabir, Bulleh Shah, Mirabai, Lal Ded and others, woven through stories that offer glimpses into their worlds.

The songs may take us across languages, but there are many ways to receive a song. We will make space to listen to its melody and bhaav (state of being), while translations and stories open up the poetry along the way.

This is an invitation to settle in and connect with your inner self through the gentle vehicle of music and poetry.

About The Artist:

Anahita is a singer and a student of the Sufi and Bhakti traditions. She engages with this timeless poetry through deep listening, singing, and an ongoing journey of understanding the self.

She sings the works of mystics such as Amir Khusro, Rumi, Bulleh Shah, Kabir, Lal Ded, Ghulam Farid, Mirabai and others, moving across languages including Hindustani, Punjabi, Farsi, Kashmiri, Marwari and more. She approaches these songs not simply as compositions to be performed, but as friends and guides, opening portals into love, surrender and the knowing of oneself.

A crucial part of her practice is making these songs accessible to others through singing circles, workshops and intimate performances, creating spaces where conversations can unfold and these words can be passed down with ease and love.
