THE ACTOR`S PROCESS
A 15-Day Intensive Acting Workshop
From Script to Camera
What do you do when you receive a script and don`t know where to begin?
The Actor`s Process is a practical, intensive 15-day workshop designed to take actors through the complete journey of preparing a character and a scene, from script analysis to truthful performance on camera. From understanding what a character wants and the circumstances they inhabit, to building psychology, creating personal connection, finding behaviour, breaking down text and finally translating the work to camera. The workshop combines technique, practical scene work, voice and speech training, camera exercises, professional casting feedback and a final filmed scene.
WHAT MAKES THE WORKSHOP DIFFERENT
Psychology-driven Character Building:
Understanding the human being behind the character and translating psychology into behaviour.
Script-to-Performance Process:
Learning how to approach and break down even an unfamiliar scene when you don`t know the complete story.
Personal Connection & Imagination:
Developing tools to make fictional circumstances emotionally and psychologically real.
Camera Acting:
Understanding shot sizes, eyelines, marks, blocking, lenses and the subtle difference between performing for the stage and living for the camera.
Voice, Body & Speech:
Dedicated specialist training integrated with the actor`s work.
Professional Casting & Final Shoot:
Work with a casting professional, apply feedback, and finish the workshop with scenes filmed for camera.
The Objective:
not to make actors dependent on a particular technique, but to give them a practical process they can use whenever they receive a script and ultimately teach them how to prepare deeply, then let the preparation go and simply live the scene.
