About The Event
The Heart Song is a celebration of divine love expressed through song, story, music and dance, led by two exceptional artists. Parvathy Baul, a leading practitioner of Baul tradition and a 2019 Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee, has performed in over 40 countries, bringing singing, movement, storytelling and instruments together as a living spiritual practice. George Brooks, the acclaimed saxophonist-composer, is known for his pioneering dialogue between jazz and Indian classical music, with collaborators including Zakir Hussain and Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia. Joined by Ashok Ayengar on sitar, Manjunath Sattyasheel on percussion and Vaibhav Ramani on violin, they weave Baul mysticism, raga and jazz improvisation into an intimate meditation in movement and sound, where longing, devotion and love travel beyond genre and language.
