Memory Lab
The Idea of Home is a 3-hour memoir and mixed-media workshop co-created by Deepli Junjappa x The Drawing Room Club. This first edition invites participants to explore the idea of home through memory, writing, everyday objects, visual mapping, slow conversations, and creative expression.
Participants are invited to bring one thing that carries their idea of home: a photograph, object, song, recipe, smell, fabric, letter, or memory. Through guided memoir-writing exercises and reflective prompts, we will explore how memories are constructed, preserved, forgotten, and transformed over time.
The workshop will move through gentle introductions, writing exercises, memory mapping, and a final mixed-media activity where participants create a postcard from home. These postcards will become part of The Drawing Room Living Archive, an ongoing archive created and held by The Drawing Room Club. This edition will form The Living Archive of Home.
This is not a technical writing class. It is a slow, reflective space for anyone who wants to pause, remember, write, create, and sit with the many meanings of home.
