Udayswar@Prithvi is a rare and truly unique acoustic experience of Indian classical music in the manner it was originally designed, for an intimate baithak.
Based on the 8 Prahars (time spans) of the day, this Indian classical music concert features morning ragas of the 2nd Prahar performed by various artistes.
Dr. M Narmadha – Violin Daughter & Disciple of M.S. Gopalakrishnan
Dr. M Narmadha is a celebrated third-generation violinist, vocalist, musicologist, composer, and academician from the distinguished Parur musical lineage. She received rigorous training in both Carnatic and Hindustani classical music from her grandfather Parur A. Sundaram Iyer, her father, and her mother, Meenakshi Gopalakrishnan.
A Ph.D. in Music from Delhi University as a UGC Fellow, Dr. M Narmadha has performed over 10,000 concerts worldwide, presenting solo violin, duets, jugalbandis, fusion, and thematic concerts with equal command of both traditions. She has received the Music Academy, Madras Best Violinist Award eight consecutive times, along with Kalaimamani and Kalashree honours. She has also founded Sancara, to nurture students in vocal and violin.
