Vartalaap is a musical storytelling experience by Band Nausikhiye, built around two words that define what we do: Varta - conversation, and Alaap - music, a melodic expression.
Imagine tuning into a late-night radio show, except you're not just listening to it, you're inside the story.
Through interactive storytelling and music, Vartalaap moves across retro Bollywood, timeless classics, folk traditions of Himachal Pradesh and stories and sounds from neighbouring states.
Songs become more than performances here; they become a way of carrying a story forward, giving it emotion, memory and sometimes, a completely different meaning.
The evening is deliberately unhurried. There is space for a song to breathe, a story to unfold, and a moment to linger. We believe some forms of art are best experienced when we stop rushing to the next thing and simply allow ourselves to listen.
Vartalaap is for anyone who enjoys stories, music and the joy of discovering something familiar in an unfamiliar way. You don't need to know every song, every tradition or every story. What matters is a willingness to be present.
