About The Event
India’s Premier Women’s Festival, We The Women, Returns to Mumbai for Its Ninth Edition
Celebrating extraordinary voices, honouring the recipients of the Changemakers of the Year Awards 2026, India’s most watched women-led festival, We The Women, returns to Mumbai on 27th June, 2026 to recognise those redefining industries, communities and the future. Curated by award-winning journalist and author Barkha Dutt, the festival has, over the years, become a powerful platform for stories of courage, leadership, resilience and transformation across industries and borders.
Bringing together changemakers, trailblazers and cultural icons, We The Women celebrates voices shaping our world. Rooted in inclusivity, the festival not only champions women but also honours men and allies who challenge traditional gender norms and expand conversations around identity, masculinity and femininity.
In keeping with its commitment to giving back, proceeds from ticket sales will go towards Bharat Ke Veer, the Government of India's initiative supporting the families of bravehearts from India's Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) who have laid down their lives in the line of duty. A tribute to the courage and sacrifice of India's security personnel, Bharat Ke Veer provides a platform for citizens to contribute directly towards supporting the families of these fallen heroes.
Past editions of We The Women have welcomed some of the biggest names in Indian cinema, including megastars Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor. Our 2025 edition saw the wonderfully outspoken and always candid Jaya Bachchan take to the stage, alongside Sidharth Malhotra and Rajkummar Rao. Cultural icons Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar have brought their blend of wit, wisdom, punch and poetry to our conversations. And the inimitable Karan Johar has consistently brought his trademark charm, wit and refreshing honesty to the festival.
Beyond cinema, the festival has also hosted influential voices from across public life, including Smriti Irani, Sudha Murty and Shashi Tharoor, each bringing their distinctive perspectives and characteristic candour to the stage. Adding an entirely different dimension have been the extraordinary women of the Indian Army and Air Force, whose powerful voices and lived experiences embody courage, conviction, resilience and inspiration. This remarkable diversity of voices, experiences and perspectives is what makes We The Women truly distinctive.
This year’s Mumbai edition promises another extraordinary line-up of speakers, bringing together some of India’s most compelling voices and personalities. The line-up includes new-age star Ananya Panday, the charismatic and much-loved Shahid Kapoor, the feisty and ever-engaging Maheep and Shanaya Kapoor, Bollywood original Shilpa Shetty, and the refreshingly authentic Siddharth, from the year’s much-talked-about OTT hit Safed Sagar, alongside many more. Together, they will bring a rich mix of stories, experiences and perspectives to the stage, exploring the intersections of heritage, creativity, ambition and empowerment.
More than a festival, We The Women is a celebration of voice, vision and the unstoppable power of change.
