Day 2: Ziro

Day 2 at Ziro Festival of Music is where the valley truly comes alive - music floating through pine-scented air, mist rolling over the rice fields, and every corner echoing with rhythm and joy. By day, the campsite turns into a creative playground. You slow down, pick up brushes and colours, and let your imagination flow in the "Paint Your Thoughts" corner - where emotions turn into art against the backdrop of the mountains. Between moments of creativity, laughter fills the air over a friendly game of UNO, while spontaneous jam sessions with fellow travellers and musicians bring strangers together through shared rhythm and sound.

As the sun dips behind the hills, the festival stage lights up and the music takes over - indie bands, soulful performances, and the raw energy of live music under an open sky. And when the main show winds down, the night doesn't end - it transforms. Around the bonfire, local artists take over with intimate jam sessions, guitars, voices, and percussion blending into the night air, keeping the musical vibe alive long after the last official note. At Ziro, time doesn't feel measured in hours - it moves in music, laughter, and shared moments that stay with you long after the festival fades.

Day 3: Ziro

Day 3 at the Ziro Festival of Music slows the tempo down, taking us beyond the music stage and deep into the soul of the valley itself - where culture, sustainability, and tradition come alive in their purest form. Today isabout truly experiencing Ziro - not just as a festival destination, but as a living heritage landscape. We step into the iconic green expanse of Apatani paddy fields, where we learn about the unique cultivation practices of the Apatani Tribe - a system so deeply rooted in harmony with nature that it has earned global recognition, including its association with UNESCO discussions on cultural heritage. Here, agriculture isn't just farming - it's a carefully balanced ecosystem of fish and rice working together in the same fields. We get a hands-on glimpse of this traditional wisdom as we join locals in their unique method of catching fish from the flooded paddy fields, a practice passed down through generations.

Ziro is also home to the world's most sustainable music gathering - the Ziro Festival of Music -where everything from stages to installations is built using natural materials like bamboo, reflecting a deep respect for the environment and the land it celebrates. The festival doesn't just exist in nature; it blends with it, becoming an extension of the valley itself.

As the day unfolds between fields, traditions, and community interactions, Ziro reveals its true identity - not just as a festival, but as a philosophy of living in balance with nature, culture, and sound.

Day 4: Ziro

The final day of our journey in Ziro Valley will be a beautiful blend of music, culture, and heritage. Before we bid farewell to the valley, we'll dive deeper into the traditions of the indigenous Apatani people through an immersive village walk across their centuries-old settlements.

We'll explore the significance of the traditional lapang - the communal gathering space that has long been at the heart of Apatani social life and storytelling. Along the way, we'll learn about the now-lost and fading tradition of facial tattoos once worn by Apatani women, a cultural identity that has nearly disappeared with the younger generations. One of the most meaningful moments of the day will be meeting elderly Apatani women who still carry these markings, offering a rare opportunity to hear their stories and experiences firsthand.

To end the cultural exploration on a unique note, we Will visit Naara Aaba, India's first kiwi fruit winery, where local innovation meets the rich agricultural heritage of the valley. As the sun sets, we return to the vibrant atmosphere of the Ziro Music Festival for the final performances of the festival - a perfect farewell to the music, people, and spirit of Ziro.
