The movie Chitrokar - Last Mural, is a tribute to two great painters from two different parts of the world - Benod Behari, who hails from Bengal and Mark Rothko who hails from New York. The movie is inspired by the work of these two contemporary creators who were similar in their thoughts and deeds. The script is based on the "Last Mural" of Blind artist Benod Behari and Mark Rothko's refusal to give his Seagram Murals series to the Season's Restaurant in Seagram building of New York.
Chitrokar presents the tension between artistic endeavor and commercial reality through a painter's eyeball.
