About the movie
Somnath Gupta's first feature film is the story of how the war in Iraq causes turmoil in a small Bengal village. Aadu is a young village girl from a conservative Hindu Brahmin family who falls in love with a Muslim youth called Suleman. After a lot of tantrums and tears, Aadu's parents agree to let the couple marry. Suleman finds a job in Iraq, and even as he settles down there, the war begins throwing the young man's life in disarray. Months pass without any news from Suleman, and Aadu and her folks worry themselves sick. Finally, a friend of Suleman returns from Iraq. What is the news he is carrying?
