About the movie
Gurukul is the story of a upright educationalist Nansaheb Vishwanath Gokhale, fondly known as Guruji - Founder and head of the Gurukul University. As a teacher, Guruji is different from others and he deals with the students in a very gentle and tolerant manner. He believes, along with professional education, students should put emphasis on the moral and social values of life.
As the story goes, Gurukul is fraudulently seized by a local politician, Girish Bhao Velangekar, reflecting the politicization of education institutions in India. Saddened by this action, Guruji leaves Gurukul and goes to an unknown destination. Six former Gurukul students, who are now married couples, search, fight and aim to restore the glory of Gurukul`s former head, Guruji.
