About the movie
A movie that is an ode to one of the most dynamic beaches of South Korea that is doomed to be an epicentre of the worst natural disaster ever.`Haeundae` promises to be a disaster movie that blends in drama comedy and romance to add the much needed charm to impending doomsday. Directed by Je-Gyun , the movie evolves around a man who after losing his best friend to a tsunami is dejected to sail the sea and instead chooses to own a shop on the Haeundae beach. Supported by a woman who is smitten by him post being rescued by his own brother , he encounters a geologist who senses an underwater disturbance that could be an indication of a hugely devastating tsunami. The film expresses human reluctance towards calamities and how we only listen perhaps when it`s a tad too late.
