About the movie
Jagala follows the story of Chekku, a young Muslim man living in Eranad during the Mappila Rebellion of the 1920s. Struggling with poverty and hunger, his daily task is to deliver food from wealthy households to Chiyan Musliar, a local teacher. Chekku survives on the pity of others, often receiving porridge as alms. Despite the deep affection of his childhood friend Kunjanju, daughter of Ossan Kunjalavi, Chekku remains indifferent-his only focus is finding his next meal.
