About the movie
Janiva, which means realization, is the story of a young boy, Sameer Deshpande, who is very sensitive and believes in being charitable and helping others. Sameer and his friends are part of a rock band that donates the proceedings to charity. He enjoys his day to day life, both in college and at home, until he realizes the reality of the system he was a part of, which changes his life forever. The injustice done to Asawari Patil, a rape victim and the condition she is in makes him question the system we are a part of, where the culprit roams free and the victim suffers in a vegetative condition. He takes the situation in his hands and fights the famous battle of justice vs. injustice and right vs. wrong. Will he be punished for his actions? Is being sensitive really a crime in today`s world?
