About the movie
Set against the backdrop of issues like poverty, debt and farmer`s suicides in rural Maharashtra, Jhing Chik Jhing is a story about Mauli (Bharat Jadhav), a poor farmer under heavy debt. Mauli owns a small plot of land in a village, where he grows cotton. His son Shyam is good at his studies and has aspirations of his own, but he is empathetic towards the family`s difficulty. At school Shyam hears about a sack-race, the prize for which is Rs. 10,000, the exact amount of the debt. He prepares himself for the race, supported by his sister and best friend. Will he succeed?
