About the movie
Meri Awargi is the Hindi dubbed version of the 2007 Tamil movie, Paruthiveeran. It stars Karthi and Priyamani headline this colorful tale of tragic love concerning two smitten cousins forced apart by the caste system and a lingering family feud. Muthazhagu is a young girl from rural India who longs to marry her cousin Paruthiveeran. Years ago, when Muthazhagu was just a small child, Paruthiveeran saved her life. These days Paruthiveeran spends most of his time skirting the law and hanging around with prostitutes, but Muthazhagu's love is unconditional. One day, Paruthiveeran finally acknowledges Muthazhagu's advances, and asks for her hand in marriage. But Paruthiveeran's proposal has stirred a long dormant feud with roots planted firmly in the caste system, and now the powerful bond shared between this committed young couple will be put to the ultimate test.
