SYNOPSIS
Mirchi (Telugu) is a Telugu film, written and directed by debutante, Koratala Siva. The film stars Prabhas, Anushka Shetty and Richa Gangopadhyay in leading roles. Sathyaraj, Adithya and Nadhiya also have significant roles in `Mirchi. The film was tentatively titled `Vaaradhi` but was later renamed `Mirchi`.

Koratala Siva in his debut Telugu film Mirchi, has ensured a mix of action, romance, songs and a bit of comedy to create a commercial venture totally revolving around the hero Prabhas.Siva uses the age-old theme of factional rivalry which has been done to death on celluloid and borrows elements from other films, imparting a feeling of dj vu among viewers.Mirchi is high on action and loaded with high-voltage violence. The story, too, is familiar with two women vying for one male.Jay (Prabhas), an architect, runs into Manasa (Richa) in Milan. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts, suggests Gestalt psychology, a school of thought that formed the cornerstone of understanding of human perception in the 20th century. Max Wertheimer, one of the pioneers of the idea believed that the ``whole`` is not determined by its individual parts, but the individual elements themselves are determined by the intrinsic nature of the whole. The idea can be very handy in understanding the why big star Telugu films are the way they are.In the context of this movie, the whole refers to Prabhas, and the individual elements correspond to everything else that goes into making the movie - the script, sub plots, cast, music, technicalities etc. The hero is supreme after all and that much this film manages to accomplish, kudos to the filmmakers. ...Read full review
