Overall, Race Gurram has excellent performances by lead actors, engrossing narration and rich production values, but lacks a fresh plot. It is a good family entertainer that will also impress the mass audience. It is a must watch movie for Bunny and Surender fans. ...Read full review
In many ways Race Gurram is an extension of Julayi. A happier extension if you may call it one. The elements are all the same. Like in Julayi, Allu Arjun plays the errant black sheep of the family, we have Tanikella Bharani playing the father yet again, and there is catchy music, some eye popping dance moves, a wicked politician for a villain etc. It`s just that the bank heist bit is replaced by some mushy brother sentiment and the comedy track - read as Brahmanandam`s histrionics - worked out way better resulting in a much more paisa vasool watching experience...second half rather. ...Read full review
Allu Arjun is real good as Lakshman, and has improved his comic timing terrifically with this role. He sings, dances, and even flexes his muscles apart from doing some unbelievable aerobics stunts. The freestyle steps in the Down Down songs are interesting. Ram (Shaam) acted as a police officer and he did a good job though his character limited. The chemistry between Shaam and Allu Arjun is middling never really lifted the film with their chemistry. Brahmanandam is major highlight of the film. Elevates the pre climax and climax episodes with his powerful introduction as Kill Bill Pandey. ...Read full review

Prakash Raj who plays a peculiar father to the heroine, who runs his home like an ashram, who banishes his driver for using the word `tokka`, an unacceptable cuss word for him. ...Read full review
Ram (Shyam) and Lakshman alias Lucky (Allu Arjun) are brothers played by Shyam and Bunny respectively. In quintessential Tom and Jerry style, they are constantly playing pranks and fighting with each other. While Ram is a police officer, Lucky is a happy-go-lucky guy upto no good. And in comes the villain into their little world in the form of Siva Reddy (Ravi Kishan) who plans to kill Ram who tries to stop his nefarious activities. Lucky gets to know about this and beats up Siva Reddy. The rest of the plot shows how Siva Reddy plots revenge and how Lucky along with his brother strikes back. All in all, its Bunnys show all along. ...Read full review
