Saawariya

Saawariya is based on Fyodor Dostoevsky`s short story, `White Nights`. Narrated by Gulabji (Rani Mukherji), it is the story of Raj (Ranbir Kapoor) who is the lead singer in the RK bar. He asks Gulabji to help him find a job and a place to stay and she takes him to Lilian (Zohra Sehgal). She lets him stay as he reminds her of her son who left many years ago, to never return.

Raj meets Sakina (Sonam Kapoor) and falls in love with her only to discover that Sakina has been waiting for her lover, Imaan (Salman Khan) who has promised to come to her on Eid. Heartbroken, he doesn`t confess his love to her. However, when Gulabji advices him to do so, he takes Sakina to RK bar on Eid and sings a song for her. Sakina remembers its time to meet Imaan and runs away.

However,when he doesn`t come, heartbroken, she decides to go with Raj.
However, what remains to be seen is how their fate takes a turn when Imaan comes for Sakina.
