Raghavaraju, his wife Janakamma and their grandson Bangararaju live an almost content life in Athreyapuram. Deep inside the couple long to see their kids, who now reside abroad and visit rarely. That's when Raghavaraju comes up with a twisted plan that forces them to come home to their ancestral home for Makar Sankranti. The plan works out, but only partially. Problems arise between Raghavaraju and Janakamma, driving them apart.

Shatamanam Bhavathi is a feel good family drama, filled with thick emotions and nostalgic moments. Aimed at establishing happiest moments of NRI families when they visit parents and native places, this movie is bang on target. It turns preachy, sentimental at times but for majority of the duration, movie is just cute. The esthetic visuals, melodious background score, realistic sensibilities, solid characterizations and perfect casting makes this movie a must watch for the families this season. On the whole, Shatamanam Bhavati is a clean family entertainer which showcases the various emotions that parents go through when their loved ones stay away from them. Strong family bonding, lively atmosphere, and natural performances are basic assets. These days we couldn`t find much family dramas. But this movie is an exception. Casting is the biggest strength and that worked well for the movie. The family values are showcased on a bigger line. Cinematography is another big asset as the visuals look super vibrant. Dil Raju`s production values are top notch. Dialogues are the backbone of the movie and they are meaningful.
