SYNOPSIS
Every year, the Kamerkar family comes together in their ancestral village to celebrate, with aplomb, the Ganpati festival. This year, with three days to go for the festival, a doyen of the family, the much-loved Gajju kaka, goes into a coma. He is put on life support -- the ventilator. Chaos ensues. Gajju kaka is in a hospital in Mumbai. From Mumbai, from the coastal village of the Karmekar clan, from the United States of America, family members pour into the hospital.The hospital reception and corridors become the venues for comic mishaps, arguments, religious endeavours and reconciliation.By the time the ever-generous elephant God arrives in the homes of his earthly flock, more than one member of the Karmekar family has been taught a valuable life lesson by the Ventilator.

In a scene from this film, the distraught wife of the geriatric plugged onto a life support device, crinkles her face while detailing the events that led to the man`s present state. "He just had his morning tea and khari and left for Dadar market to shop for vegetables." Over the course of the film, she repeats these lines multiple times to different audiences who`d drop by to commiserate. While her situation evokes empathy, the uniformity of her narrative and consistent doleful tone lend themselves to black comedy. About how most respond to the inevitable conclusion of life, this one also delves into the unspoken resentment that fragments the relationship shared by fathers and sons, often triggered by misconceptions.
