Aahana moved to Mumbai from the from the City of Nawabs, Lucknow to pursue her career in the entertainment industry. With strong theater background, Aahana debuted with a short film titled Mai in 2009. She then went on to make rather insignificant appearances in television shows and short films until she was cast in Makarand Deshpande`s 2013 movie Sona Spa, which featured veteran movie and theater actor Naseeruddin Shah. However, the movie bombed at the box office. Next, she was seen in the psychological thriller miniseries titled Yudh, where she was cast alongside big movie actors such as Amitabh Bachchan, Sarika, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Kay Kay Menon. Upon garnering praise for her work in the television show, she was seen in another television series called Agent Raghav. In 2016, she reunited with Naseeruddin Shah in the movie The Blueberry Hunt, where she played one of the lead characters. Her 2017 release includes Lipstick Under My Burkha. Her 2018 release includes The Accidental Prime Minister, directed by Vijay Ratnakar Gutte. Her 2020 release includes Khuda Haafiz.
