The grandson of one of the most acclaimed filmmakers of Indian cinema late B.R. Chopra, Abhay Chopra is a director and producer. In 2017, he produced Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari`s romantic comedy Bareilly Ki Barfi. In the same year, he turned director with his maiden venture Ittefaq. A remake of the 1969 movie directed by Yash Chopra, the 2017 movie stars Sidharth Malhotra, Sonakshi Sinha, and Akshaye Khanna in the lead roles.
