Abhinay Banker is an Indian actor, director, playwright and theatre researcher primarily working in Gujarati cinema and theatre since 2006. He has appeared in notable films including the National Award-winning Gujarati film Reva, Mijaaj, Mara Pappa Superhero, Shubhaarambh, and the Gujarati psychological thriller Bhram. His portrayal of Mahatma Gandhi in Kasturba earned him the Best Actor award, while his performance in Mara Pappa Superhero received Best Actor recognition at the San Diego International Film Festival. Abhinay Banker's acting in Mijaaj earned him the Best Actor in Negative Role at Gujarati Iconic Film Awards. His performance in Bhram further established him as a powerful screen performer, earning multiple accolades including three awards at the Gujarati Screen Awards and a nomination at the Indian National Cine Academy Awards for Best Actor in a Negative Role.

Over the years, he has performed in more than 1600 stage shows and several acclaimed productions, including box-office successes like Welcome Zindagi and Haji Kasam Tari Vijali, along with celebrated plays such as Akoopar, Pheadre in India, Unsuni, Samudramanthan, Chalta Phirta Bambai, Main Tenu Phir Milangi, and Kasturba, presented at prestigious platforms including Bharat Rang Mahotsav and Theatre Olympiad.

Abhinay also received the Government of Gujarat Film Award for Screenplay & Dialogues for Shubhaarambh. Holding a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Theatre Arts with research focused on Psychophysical Dynamics of Acting, his work explores emotional authenticity, psychophysical acting, and the intersection of traditional Indian performance practices with contemporary storytelling.
