Adeel Akhtar is a Pakistan-born English film and television actor. He first rose to prominence when he appeared in a supporting role in the 2012 political satire black-comedy film The Dictator, and has since appeared in Jadoo (2013), War Book (2014), the fantasy film Pan (2015) and the 2017 films The Big Sick, and Victoria and Abdul. Akhtar is also a seasoned television actor, and among his television credits are the shows Law and Order: Criminal Intent, Trollied, Utopia, The Night Manager, Murdered by My Father, Unforgotten and Ghosted. For his performance in Murdered by My Father, Akhtar won the BAFTA TV Award for Best Leading Actor in 2017. Other significant film credits include Traitor (2008), Four Lions (2010) and Stranger Things (2010).
