Akhil Kapur was born and raised in Dubai. He studied acting and film making at the New York Film Academy and The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. He entered Bollywood as an assistant director in films such as Salaam-e-Ishq: A Tribute to Love (2007), Race (2008) and Honeymoon Travels Pvt.Ltd (2007). He is also a seasoned mixed martial artist, self defence expert and the co-founder of the India Flight Factory which is a martial arts and security services company. Akhil will soon be seen in the upcoming action thriller Desi Kattey which is releasing in September 2014.
