Among contemporary writers, Akshara K V. occupies a place of prominence as an important thinker. He has made a name for himself as a playwright, Director and theatre organizer. Through his writings, Akshara has been ably responding to the world. He has been running the theatre repertory Tirugata for twenty five years. The Ninasam theatre institute and the Akshara prakashana, the publication wing of Ninasam, Are now guided by Akshar.
He is the son of the famous writer K.V.Subbanna. He is a prominent figure in contemporary Kannada theatre. After attending primary education at Heggodu village and Sagar town, K V Akshara studied theatre at National School of Drama, New Delhi and at Workshop Theatre, University of Leeds in the United Kingdom.
K.V. Akshara has written more than 15 books in Kannada on Drama, theatre and performing arts and translated books on theatre to Kannada language. He has also translated and directed dramas written by William Shakespeare.
He has been recognized and awarded with Karnataka Sahitya Academy award and Karnataka Nataka Academy fellowship for his excellent contribution to the art.
