A veteran of Russian cinema and theatre, Aleksandr Galibin's career spans over four decades, in the course of which he has essayed many memorable roles. Galibin is perhaps best known for portraying Tsar Nicholas II in the historical drama The Romanovs: An Imperial Family (2000) and The Master in the acclaimed 2005 miniseries The Master and Margarita. Besides acting, Galibin has also ventured into theatre direction. He is also a recipient of prestigious civilian awards like the People's Artist of the Russian Federation and Honored Artists of RSFSR.
Notable feature film credits include A Fairy Tale Told at Night (1981), Ragin (2004) and the action thriller 22 Minutes (2014), which was dubbed into Tamil as 22 Nimidangal in 2018.
